Welcome to the HCSC website!

Quality combined with cost savings are the driving forces of our organization. Each day, our employees continue in their efforts to promote our mission of providing programs and services at quality and cost levels that will help our providers meet the constantly-changing challenges of the healthcare industry.

Hospital Central Services, Inc. & Affiliates (HCSC) was founded in 1968 when a group of prominent Lehigh Valley (PA) business and civic leaders determined that a shared laundry service would benefit the residents of the surrounding areas by eliminating duplication of costs and services. The area's first centralized healthcare laundry facility opened in 1970, serving 10 area hospitals; our group purchasing and blood banking divisions soon followed.

Throughout the years, our goal has always been the same: complete customer satisfaction. Leading the way are our dedicated group of 1,400+ employees, and our 150+ volunteer board and committee members. Thanks to their generous donation of time and talent over the last three decades, HCSC has seen our membership base expand to over 450 healthcare facilities in the mid-Atlantic region, who utilize many of the programs and services offered through our laundry and linen services, group purchasing and blood banking divisions.

We are glad that you have joined us on the web, and we invite you to e-mail us with any comments or suggestions that you may have in order to help us improve our website. Our site is maintained by a committee made up of public relations and information systems departments, as well as representatives from each HCSC business unit. The site is updated regularly, so that our customers - past, present, and future - are assured of getting information in a timely manner.

In the coming years, HCSC will continue in its endeavors to preserve and strengthen our relationships with our customers, employees and community organizations in this rapidly changing world... because while our directions may change, opportunities remain, and we will continue our pursuit of being the best.

HCSC-Laundry Receives Industry Accreditation

National Inspection assures customers that highest quality and safety standards are met.

HCSC-Laundry has recently received accreditation-the industry's highest rating on quality and safety-from the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC). HLAC is a non-profit organization that inspects and accredits laundries processing healthcare textiles for hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities.

HLAC's mission is to publish high standards for processing healthcare textiles in laundries, and to provide an accreditation process that recognizes those laundries that meet these high standards. The decision to become accredited is completely voluntary. The primary benefit of accreditation is that an independent third party has inspected your facility and found that it meets or exceeds the highest standards for processing healthcare textiles.
